Leading international law firm Baker & McKenzie is heading the nominations for the 12th annual The Macallan ALB Law Awards with a total of 18 nods, with fellow giant Mayer Brown JSM and local firm Vivien Chan & Co coming in second with 12.

International firms, meanwhile, maintain a considerable advantage in the deal categories, with a number of leading firms - Linklaters, Baker & McKenzie, and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer - gaining nominations in all deal categories. King & Wood Mallesons was the only local firm to gain the same honour.

The event also celebrates in-house expertise, and Morgan Stanley led the field with six nominations, closely followed by UBS and Nomura International (Hong Kong) Ltd with five each.

Winners will be announced on Sep. 6, Friday at a gala event at the Conrad Hotel, Hong Kong.

The event will be attended by senior business leaders, investment bankers, solicitors, judges, and CEOs and CFOs from Hong Kong and Korea. Members of the press are invited to register to attend.
