Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe has boosted its intellectual property practice in China with the recent hire of Yufeng (Ethan) Ma as a partner at its Shanghai office.
Before joining Orrick, Ma served as Director of Intellectual Property, Asia at Corning Inc, an international manufacturer of glass and ceramic.
Ma specialises in advising companies on the intellectual property aspects of strategic transactions, including licensing, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and collaborations.
He was previously a partner and member of the board at McAndrews, Held & Malloy in Chicago, and has practised for more than a decade in the U.S. during which he represented both U.S. and Chinese companies in intellectual property matters.
