The Chengdu-based Tahota Law Firm has set up offices in Shanghai and Kunming, swiftly following the launch of its Jinan office early this year, and is also considering its first overseas office in Washington, D.C.
With four partners and six associates, Tahota’s Shanghai office will focus on capital markets, finance, cultural industries, energy resources and commercial litigations.
Its Kunming office was officially approved in September, and will focus on cross-border transactions between China and Southeast Asia, especially in the areas of energy resources, according to a statement. The Kunming office has seven qualified lawyers.
Tahota was named West China Law Firm of the Year at the ALB China Law Awards 2015, the seventh time that the firm received the award. A plan to open an office in Washington D.C. is in the works, according to the firm’s statement.
