Dorsey & Whitney has set up an office in Beijing, the Minneapolis-based firm’s second branch in mainland China after Shanghai.
Shanghai-based corporate partner Frank Hong will relocate to head the Beijing office as managing partner. Hong specialises in on cross-border M&A, IP matters and China-related inbound and outbound investments. Also moving to Beijing from Shanghai is associate Ray Liu, whose work focuses on commercial litigation and international arbitration.
Dorsey has maintained a Hong Kong office since 1995, and opened its Shanghai branch in 2001.
“Building capacities in China and in the rest of the Firm to service in-bound work from China is an important component of Dorsey’s global growth strategy,” said Dorsey managing partner Ken Cutler in a statement.
