Beijing-headquartered Commerce & Finance Law Offices (Tongshang) has launched a Hong Kong association with local firm Eric Chow & Co., which will focus on capital markets as well as mergers and acquisitions.
Eric Chow & Co. Hong Kong office managing partner and namesake Eric Chow, who is formerly of Dentons and Paul Hastings, is joined by partner Clement Jiang, an ex-Shearman & Sterling Hong Kong associate.
Both Chow and Jiang specialise in Hong Kong capital markets transactions.
Founded in 1992 as one of the first private practice law firms in China Commerce & Finance Law Offices, which counts 89 partners and over 300 lawyers and legal professionals among its staff, has a history of taking part in a number state-owned capital markets projects.
Earlier this month the firm, which already has physical offices in Shenzhen and Shanghai, made headlines when it played a role advising in Hong Kong’s biggest biotech IPO of the year.
