Pinsent Masons has expanded its corporate team with the appointment of corporate specialist Rosita Chu as a partner in Hong Kong from Luk & Partners, Morgan, Lewis & Bockius’ associated firm in the city.

Chu was one of 13 new partners hired by Morgan Lewis from fellow U.S. firm Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe when the former firm set up shop in Hong Kong. She was an of counsel at Orrick during the time of her departure.

At Pinsent Masons, Chu is expected to continue representing Chinese and local Hong Kong investment banks and corporates in equity capital market transactions and M&A services, as well as providing legal advice on securities regulations, ongoing regulatory compliance, corporate restructuring, and more.

Chu’s appointment is the second Asia-Pacific corporate hire by Pinsent Masons in three months. In September, the firm hired Brian Scott  as corporate partner from Herbert Smith Freehills; he will be based in Australia from 2019.
