Beijing-headquartered Grandall Law Firm has opened a liaison office in New York under the name of Grandall & Partners. This is Grandall’s sixth overseas office and its 30th office overall.

Grandall & Partners is Grandall’s first liaison office overseas, and was opened in conjunction with local firm Ballon Stoll Bader & Nadler. Unlike its five other overseas offices in Hong Kong, Paris, Madrid, Silicon Valley, and Stockholm, this office will be able to provide a full suite of services, including advice on U.S. law, through Ballon Stoll.

Ballon Stoll, founded in 1931, is a mid-sized firm that focuses on restructuring, fashion law, apparel and retail. It also has experts on estate and tax planning, employment, immigration and domestic relations.

The liaison office is expected to serve as a bridge that helps Grandall better service Chinese companies in the U.S. and U.S. companies doing business in China.

The office has nearly 40 associates, including more than 10 partners and counsels. It is led by the Beijing-based executive partner of Grandall Legal Group, Wenjie Sun, and Shanghai partner Erica Chang. Sun and Chang also head Ballon Stoll’s offering in Greater China.

Ballon Stoll
