Reed Smith has hired Eric Lin as a partner in its energy and natural resources industry group in Beijing from Simmons & Simmons, where headed that firm’s office in the capital. 

Lin has more than 19 years of experience in international M&A, projects and project finance, and energy and natural resources projects. He has advised foreign clients on joint ventures in China as well as represented Chinese clients on outbound transactions in Europe, Asia and Africa.

Among other deals, he advised Shell on the Huizhou Phase 2 Petrochemical Project in Guangdong Province, a $10 billion petrochemical project in joint venture with China National Offshore Corporation.

Starting his career with Allen & Overy in Beijing, Hong Kong, Shanghai and London from 2001 to 2011, Lin worked with Simmons & Simmons from 2011 to 2019, becoming the Beijing office in 2017 after the his predecessor, Davis Wang, left to set up his own advisory firm focusing on corporate governance and proxy management.

Lin is the firm’s most recent partner hire in Asia, following the appointment of litigation partner Stephen Chan in Hong Kong in May, and global regulatory and investigations partner Dora Wang in Shanghai and New York, and disputes and regulatory partner Mark West in Hong Kong, in June.

礼德律师事务所北京办公室迎来能源和自然资源业务合伙人林在志律师。加入礼德前，林在志律师担任西盟斯律师事务所北京办公室管理合伙人。

林在志律师在国际并购、项目和项目融资、能源和自然 资源项目方面拥有超过19年的执业经验，为诸多外国客户在中国开展合资项目提供法律服务，也在欧洲、亚洲和非洲地区为中国客户担任境外交易律师。

完成了诸多重大项目，其中包括代表荷兰皇家壳牌公司（“壳牌”）在广东惠州的石化工程的二期项目担任顾问，该项目是壳牌与中国海洋石油集团有限公司（“中国海油”）成立的合资企业，价值100亿美元。

林在志律师2001年开始在安理国际律师事务所执业，曾在北京、香港、上海、伦敦办公室工作，之后2011年以合伙人身份加入西盟斯律师事务所。2017年开始担任西盟斯北京办公室管理合伙人，接替合伙人王德全律师。王德全律师离开后创立了咨询公司，专注公司治理和代理管理事宜。

林在志律师是礼德在亚洲地区近期新加盟的合伙人之一，今年5月礼德香港办事处礼德齐伯礼律师行迎来诉讼业务合伙人陈凯南律师，6月迎来全球监管业务合伙人王婉珺律师，王律师在上海和纽约两地工作，同月，香港办事处迎来争议解决与监管合伙人Mark West律师的加入。
