10月17日，埃及宣布其成功完成35亿元人民币三年期可持续发展债券的发行，方达律师事务所在交易中担任发行人中国律师，君合律师事务所则为牵头主承销商中国银行和联席主承销商汇丰银行提供中国法律咨询。

此笔交易创下多项纪录：是有史以来最大规模的主权类熊猫债发行、首单非洲地区的熊猫债、首单可持续发展主权熊猫债，以及首单采用担保结构的主权熊猫债。本次发行是中国债券市场对外开放的重要里程碑，为熊猫债市场打开了新的篇章。

此外，本次发行也是绿色“一带一路”建设的标志性融资交易。

Fangda, JunHe on Africa’s first panda bond issuance, raising $479 mln

Egypt issued on Oct.17 sustainable panda bonds in the Chinese financial market in the amount of about $479 million. Fangda Partners acted as the PRC legal counsel to the issuer, while JunHe advised leading sponsor Bank of China and co-sponsor HSBC, on PRC laws in the deal.

Egypt is the first country in the Middle East and North Africa to issue sustainable panda bonds. This issuance also marks a significant milestone in the opening of China's bond market to the world by being the largest sovereign panda bond issuance in history, the first panda bond from Africa, and the first sovereign panda bond using a guarantee structure.

Panda bonds are bonds denominated in Chinese yuan but issued by foreign borrowers.

The issuance also serves as a new portal for achieving sustainable development goals, building bridges of green and sustainable financing along the BRI countries.
