美国摩根路易斯律师事务所向ALB确认，其已经关闭了深圳办公室。这成为继泛伟律师事务所关闭上海办公室后，2025年第二家调整中国业务的国际律所。

摩根路易斯深圳于2023年6月得到司法部批准正式设立，并被深圳市司法局选作2023年深圳律师行业十件大事之一。彼时，摩根路易斯希望在深圳专注于知识产权领域，主要服务于深圳活跃的科技和生命健康企业。

然而，摩根路易斯告诉ALB，“由于深圳的两位律师已经离所，我们决定将知识产权业务在上海办公室重建”。根据ALB获得的信息，彼时摩根路易斯深圳代表处管理者、知识产权合伙人朱韶斌律师已于2024年11月加盟欧华律师事务所西雅图办公室；另一位参与深圳业务的唐波律师也已不再显示在摩根路易斯的官网上。

目前，摩根路易斯在中国还有北京、上海、香港三家办公室，提供公司、资本市场、公司调查、投资管理、劳动、诉讼、知识产权领域服务。“三家办公室共有近70名律师、46名专业人士。2024年10月，北京办公室刚刚迎来了合伙人郭冰娜律师。”该所告诉ALB。

不过，摩根路易斯在中国的律师人数出现了下降：根据ALB的统计，2023年6月，其在北京、上海、香港、深圳四家办公室拥有的律师数量约为90人，其中包括21名合伙人。

摩根路易斯退出后，深圳拥有的国际律所数量为6家，其中5家布局在前海。绝大多数国际所都专注于该地区的知识产权业务，但于2024年中旬刚刚设立的新加坡立杰深圳代表处则专注于跨境争议解决服务。

Morgan Lewis Adjusts Its China Presence, Closes Shenzhen Office

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius has confirmed to ALB that it has closed its Shenzhen office, making it the second international law firm to adjust its China operations in 2025, following the closure of Fenwick & West’s Shanghai office in the early January.

The Morgan Lewis Shenzhen office was officially approved by the Ministry of Justice in June 2023 and was recognized by the Shenzhen Justice Bureau as one of the "Top Ten Events in the Shenzhen Legal Industry" in 2023. At the time, the firm aimed to focus on intellectual property services in Shenzhen, primarily serving the city’s thriving technology and life sciences companies.

However, Morgan Lewis informed ALB: "We parted ways with our only two lawyers in Shenzhen and reestablished our China-based intellectual property practice in our Shanghai office, where it was initially established in 2017." According to public information, the head of the Shenzhen office, IP partner Zhu Shaobin, joined DLA Piper’s Seattle office in November 2024. Another lawyer involved in the Shenzhen practice, Tang Bo, is no longer listed on the Morgan Lewis website.

Currently, Morgan Lewis operates three offices in China—in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong— providing corporate, capital markets, corporate investigations, investment management, employment, litigation, and intellectual property services through almost 70 lawyers, supported by 46 professional staff, including its October 2024 addition of Bingna Guo in Beijing, the firms told ALB.

However, the firm’s overall lawyer count in China has decreased. According to ALB statistics, in June 2023, Morgan Lewis had approximately 90 lawyers, including 21 partners, across its four China offices.

Following Morgan Lewis’ exit, the number of international law firms operating in Shenzhen has dropped to six, with five located in Qianhai. While most international firms in Shenzhen focus on intellectual property, Rajah & Tann, which opened its Shenzhen office in mid-2024, specializes in cross-border dispute resolution.
