Sidley Austin has boosted its Beijing corporate finance practice with the addition of partner Mengyu Lu from Kirkland & Ellis.

Lu represents Chinese companies and underwriters on Hong Kong IPOs. She also specialises in other capital markets transactions, mergers and acquisitions and post-listing compliance matters.

Most recently, Lu was part of the Kirkland team that advised China Galaxy International on its $3.1 billion share deal in April.

“Mengyu’s strong capabilities in handling multifaceted capital markets transactions will make her a welcome addition to our team of lawyers who are widely recognized for their depth of knowledge related to Hong Kong IPO listings as well as other securities transactions,” said Constance Choy, Sidley’s head of corporate finance practice in Hong Kong, in a statement.
