Former capital markets associate Stephen Luo joined PRC firm Jingtian & Gongcheng’s Hong Kong associate firm L&C Legal as a partner from Shearman & Sterling.
Luo’s practice focuses on securities offerings and M&A related to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. He was also part of the seven-member team who advised the controlling shareholder of Future Land Development Holdings’ $661 million privatization proposal.
Luo’s departure from Shearman & Sterling comes after Colin Law’s team left for Fangda Partners and Stella Yeung joined L&C Legal in October, and Yang Ge who joined DLA Piper in July.
L&C Legal, established in early September by former Mayer Brown partners Elaine Lo and Nicholas Chan, is expected to fully merge with Jingtian & Gongcheng’s Hong Kong office in early 2019.

美国谢尔曼▪斯特灵律师事务所前资本市场业务律师Stephen Luo将以合伙人身份,加入竞天公诚香港分所与L&C Legal LLP(罗陈律师事务所有限法律责任合伙)的联营律所。
Luo的业务领域主要集中在香港联合交易所相关的证券发行与并购,去年曾作为主要成员参与并代表新城发展控股有限公司控股股东融资6.61亿美元用于私有化。
Luo离开谢尔曼律师事务所之前,先后有:前谢尔曼亚洲资本市场业务负责人Colin Law团队离开去了方达律师事务所;上月初前谢尔曼资本市场律师Stella Yeung离开也加入了L&C Legal LLP;今年7月另一位前谢尔曼资本市场律师Yang Ge离开加入了欧华律师事务所。
L&C是根据香港法律成立的律师事务所,于今年9月3日正式开业,由孖士打律师行前首席合伙人罗婉文主导,并与孖士打律师行原证券合伙人Nicholas Chan共同设立。预计2019年初,L&C将正式并入竞天公诚香港分所。
