CKR Law has reached a preliminary memorandum of understanding with Beijing’s Yingke Law Firm to create a new legal practice in the U.S. under the branding YKR Law.

YKR Law will operate as an independent legal entity separate from Yingke and CKR but will work closely with Yingke as a key member of Yingke Global, an international bilateral investment service firm. The new firm is expected to operate up to 10 offices in the U.S. with a focus on the U.S. domestic market.

Yingke is the largest law firm in China and Asia by headcount with 64 domestic branches and provides legal services in 115 cities in 55 countries through the member law firms of Yingke Global Legal Alliance.

CKR currently has around 20 U.S. offices and 31 overseas offices.

The parties intend to make a mutual decision on the closing by September 30, 2019, subject to the satisfactory completion of ongoing due diligence.
