总部位于纽约的普洛思律师事务所（Proskauer Rose）在一封邮件中向ALB证实：“经过认真考量，我们决定关闭本所的北京代表处”。普洛思也成为继贝克博茨、McDermott之后，最新一家退出中国内地市场的美国律师事务所。
普洛思北京开设于2011年。和开设于2008年的香港代表处一道成为该所在亚洲仅有的两家代表机构。
普洛思北京主要处理跨境业务，重点关注并购和基金领域。和普洛思香港一样，它重点服务于地产及酒店、媒体和娱乐行业，曾协助将首家格莱美博物馆引入中国三亚。
普洛思北京规模一直很小，只有合伙人任勇、律师侯丽娟（音译）两人。任律师于2010年从孖士打律师事务所加盟，专注于私人投资基金的设立、管理及投资业务。侯律师也是基金设立及基金发起人代理方面的专家。
普洛思并未透露两位律师接下来的执业安排。
普洛思两家中国办公室背后的核心人物是合伙人陶宇（Yuval Tal），他于1999年加入普洛思，组建并出任两家中国办公室的负责人。作为酒店、博彩及休闲领域专家，他的业务也主导了律所在大中华区服务的方向。
普洛思北京关闭后，该所在亚洲便仅余香港一家代表处。普洛思香港现有3名合伙人、1名资深顾问、2名律师。
普洛思在给ALB的邮件中说：“我们将继续在香港执业，为该地区的相关产业和客户提供服务。我们承诺将继续为这些客户提供最高水平的服务。”
Proskauer being the latest US firm to exit mainland market
New York-headquartered firm Proskauer Rose has confirmed to ALB in an email that “after careful consideration, we have made the decision to close our Beijing office”, being the latest US firm to exit the mainland China market after Baker Botts, McDermott Will & Emery.
Proskauer’s Beijing office was established in 2011. Together with its Hong Kong office, which was opened in 2008, are the only two offices of the firm in Asia.
The Beijing office mainly deals with cross-border transactions, using M&A and private funds. Same as its Hong Kong office, it has particular strength in the sectors of real estate and hospitality, and media and entertainment, and has assisted in bringing the first-ever GRAMMY Museum to China.
The size of the office remains small, with only two lawyers: partner Yong Ren and associate Lijuan Hou. Ren joined from Mayor Brown in 2010 and has been with the firm for over a decade. His practice focuses on formation, management and investment of private investment funds. Hou also works on fund formation and fund sponsor representation.
Proskauer didn’t comment on the whereabouts of the two lawyers in the future.
The key person in Proskauer’s two China offices is partner Yuval Tal, who joined the firm in 1999. Tal built and has been heading the two offices since their establishment. As an expert in the hospitality, gaming and leisure sectors, his practice areas also set the tone of the firm’s China business.
After the closure of the Beijing office, Proskauer remains sole Asian presence in Hong Kong, where the firm currently hires three partners, one senior consultant, and two associates.
In the email to ALB, Proskauer stated that “we will continue to maintain a presence in Hong Kong to service the clients and industries we cover in the region. We remain committed to providing those clients with the highest level of service”.
