Blank Rome has hired Louis Meng as the head of its Greater China practice, and chief representative of its Shanghai office from Haynes and Boone, where he served as co-chair of that firm’s Asia Practice Group.

Meng has more than 20 years of experience in advising clients in connection with M&A, PE, VC, emerging growth, alternative and IPOs, fund formation, FDI and JVs, distressed property and non-performing loan transactions, real estate finance, direct selling, structured finance, and other cross-border corporate transactions.

In a statement, Blank Rome said that the addition of Meng would “further equip the firm to counsel Asia-based clients doing business in the U.S., or other foreign markets, and U.S. companies doing business in Asia.” Meng is expected to “co-anchor” the Shanghai office with Mike Margolis, chair of the firm’s Asia practice.
