总部位于硅谷的美国威尔逊律师事务所向ALB证实，该所即将关闭其北京办公室。
“我们不断评估并调整律所运营，以确保能够有效满足客户需求，并维持较高的运营效率。受此策略影响，本所决定不再续租北京办公室，并着手结束在北京的运营。”该所在一份声明中说。
威尔逊北京办公室开设于2012年。根据其网站，威尔逊北京目前有13名法律专业人士，其中包括4名合伙人，和1名顾问。
合伙人欧阳丹律师是威尔逊亚洲资本市场业务主管及北京办公室首席代表；中国合伙人尹灿、李可律师主要工作于资本市场、私募投资、公司交易领域；中国合伙人Richard Wang则主要工作于专利领域。
威尔逊在中国还将保留开设于2007年的上海办公室，以及开设于2010年的香港办公室。
“通过其他亚洲办公室，我们将继续为大中华地区及亚洲地区客户提供杰出的服务，并会采取恰当步骤，确保客户、律师、专业人士的平稳交接。”威尔逊说。
威尔逊以服务于创新产业——尤其是互联网、科技、生命健康企业而知名，曾参与了谷歌、领英、推特等高知名度IPO项目。在中国，威尔逊也一直活跃于中国企业的美国及香港上市、私募股权、并购、知识产权等业务领域。其北京办公室负责人欧阳丹律师曾告诉ALB，其团队在2010年代服务于大量TMT、医疗、消费品领域企业，并于近年逐渐转向芯片、AI、物联网、机器人等硬科技领域。
威尔逊成为今年继佳利、摩根路易斯、泛伟后，最新一家调整中国布局的美国律所。
WSGR decides to close in Beijing
Silicon Valley-based Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati (WSGR) has confirmed to ALB that it will be closing its Beijing office.
"We continually evaluate and adapt our operations to ensure we are effectively meeting the needs of our clients, while maintaining high levels of efficiency. With that approach in mind, the firm has decided to forgo renewing its office lease in Beijing and to begin the process of winding down operations in that location," the firm states in a release.
WSGR established its Beijing office in 2012. According to its website, the office currently has 13 legal professionals, including four partners and one of counsel.
Partner Dan Ouyang serves as head of WSGR’s Asia capital markets practice and as chief representative of the Beijing office. China partners Can Yin and Ke Li focus on capital markets, private equity, and corporate transactions, while partner Richard Wang specializes in patents.
WSGR will maintain its Shanghai office, established in 2007, and its Hong Kong office, which opened in 2010.
"We remain dedicated to providing exceptional service in Greater China and the rest of Asia through our other offices in that region, and will take the steps needed to ensure a smooth transition for clients, attorneys, and professional staff," says the firm.
WSGR is well known for its expertise in serving innovation-driven industries, particularly in internet, technology, and life sciences. The firm has played a key role in high-profile IPOs, including those of Google, LinkedIn, and Twitter. In China, WSGR has been active in advising Chinese companies on U.S. and Hong Kong listings, private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and intellectual property matters.
Beijing office head Dan Ouyang previously told ALB that her team handled numerous IPO projects in the TMT, healthcare, and consumer sectors during the 2010s, with a more recent focus on deep-tech industries such as semiconductors, AI, IoT, and robotics.
WSGR is the latest U.S. law firm to adjust its China strategy this year, following moves by Cleary, Morgan Lewis, and Fanwick.
